LAKE WALES -- Mr. Dave A. Carson of Lake Wales died of complications following surgery Friday (Nov. 11, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 79.

Born in Akron, Ohio, on Oct. 25, 1926, he came to Lake Wales from Monee, Ill., in 1998. He was the owner, operator and executive of Carson Motor Freight. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Mason.

Mr. Carson was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carson. He is survived by his brother, Bill Carson, Akron, and sister, Frances Talkington, Akron.

Memorials may be made to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch.
