David Buxton

David Buxton of Lake Wales passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at his residence.

He was born January 22, 1952 in Lake Wales to the late Louis Manuel & Edna Buxton; he was a lifelong resident of Lake Wales. He was retired from Duke Energy, formerly Florida Power, as a senior store room manager and attended the Winter Haven Christian Church. He was active in the Lake Wales Little League and girls’ softball, the past president of the Lake Wales Boosters Club and an avid sports fan, specifically the Gators, Rays and Lightning.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Judy Buxton; daughters, Tracy Hannah (Christopher) of Lake Wales and Dana Buxton (Matt) of Lake Wales; sister, Jill Cheatham of Lakeland; and three grandchildren, Hanna, Ryder and Mason.

Memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Pastor James Reed officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Cornerstone Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
