Darrell Zane Carter, 70, of Frostproof passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring.

Born September 29, 1937 in Grayson, KY; he has been a winter resident since 1995 coming from Grayson, KY. He was retired from A K Steel and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a member of the Frostproof Masonic Lodge, a past member of the 32nd Degree Mason in Covington, KY and a shriner in Ashland, KY.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Griffey Carter; daughter, Beverly Carter of Grayson, KY; son, Zane Carter of Grayson, KY; brothers, Goyle Carter of Grayson, KY; Phillip Carter of Grayson, KY; sisters, Maxine Osbourne of Biloxi, MS; Jewell Prichard of Muncie, IN; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

No local services, burial will take place in Kentucky.
