Darla Kay Fry of Haines City passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Oak Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation.

She was born July 5, 1949 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Leonard and Doris Gruber; she has been a resident of Central Florida for over 45 years. Darla was a retired electrician and the last job she had was doing electrical work in ambulances.

Darla was preceded in death by her son, Brian Fry. She is survived by her children, Joseph Fry and wife Daina of Orlando, Wanda Waldman and husband Ryan of Lake Hamilton, Timothy Fry of Orlando, and Andrea Melton and husband Jeremy of Orlando; siblings, Duke Gruber of Michigan, Rose Spears of Huntington, West Virginia, Gail Thompson and husband Chris of Ohio, Barbara Townson and husband Jeff of Huntington, West Virginia, and Penny Basenback and husband Larry of Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until the funeral service at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
