Dale Gruhn of Lake Wales passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at Lake Wales Wellness and Rehab Center.

He was born August 1, 1929, in Lansing, MI to the late Jacob and Lydia Gruhn. He retired after 34 years from the Board of Water and Light in Lansing, Michigan. Dale was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy Seabees. Moving from West Palm Beach to Lake Wales 30 years ago, he was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and worked at Bok Tower Gardens for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Donna Gruhn; daughters, Kelly Solis (Joe) of Sebastian and Kathy Gruhn (Dean) of Lansing, MI; step-daughter, Shelley Megyesi of Denver, CO; sons, Dale D. Gruhn II (Tina) of Tennessee and David A. Gruhn (Julie) of Lansing, MI; step-son, Donald Toebe of Lake Wales; sister, Barbara J. Patrick (Gus) of Charlotte, MI; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with Father Timothy Nunez officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Memorial Fund (221 South 4 th Street, Lake Wales, Florida 33853).  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.marionnelsonfuneralhome.com .
