Colleen Lowery

Colleen Lowery of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

She was born March 10, 1924 in Tampa to the late Donnie Depree & Leo (Taylor) Lowery; she came here from St. Pete 44 years ago. She retired from teaching after 25 years at Lake Wales High School; traveled all over the world, loved animals, Asian culture and mostly known for her contributions to the Lake Wales Community and her love for her family, friends, and neighbors.

Colleen was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Depree Lowery and a nephew, Bill Lowery. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Mary Joan Lowery; many nieces & their families, including Pat Sims, Karen Ford and Janie Sutton; and many close friends.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rob Quam officiating.
