AVON PARK -- Mr. Clint H. McElroy Sr. of Avon Park died of heart failure Friday (April 7, 2006). He was 52.
Born March 18, 1954, in Fort Benning, Ga., Mr. McElroy moved to Avon Park eight years ago. He served in the Army and fought in Vietnam. He worked as a truck driver for Ben Hill Griffin Harvesting. He was Baptist. He was a member of the Moose Lodge Chapter 2256 and American Legion Post 69, Avon Park. He served as president of VFW Post 9853.
Mr. McElroy is survived by his wife, Linda L. McElroy; daughters, Shannon Armstrong, Avon Park, Christy Taylor, Pittsburgh; son, Clinton Henry "Bubba" McElroy Jr., Pittsburgh; parents, Henry C. and Elizabeth G. McElroy, Frostproof; brothers, Henry C. McElroy Jr., Avon Park, John H. McElroy Sr., Bristle, Oscar H. McElroy Sr., Lake Wales, Lendwood H. McElroy, Frostproof, Harold H. McElroy, Moyock, N.C.; sisters, Debbie J. Williamson, Frostproof, Maybelle E. Ku, Sebring, Judy C. Thornton, Wachula, P-Nut McElroy, Frostproof; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Frostproof. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Ridge, Frostproof.
