Clifton Leroy Wilcox, 93

Clifton Leroy Wilcox of Frostproof passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Lakeland Hospice House.

He was born September 17, 1930 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania to the late Richard and Gladys Wilcox; he moved to Frostproof from Pennsylvania in 1998. Clifton was a truck driver for 45 years before retiring and he served with the United States Army in Korea. He was a member of South Lake Wales Church of God. During his younger years, he enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and building model trucks. Clifton enjoyed getting in his golfcart and watching the traffic on Highway 27. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his family.

Clifton was preceded in death by his wife, Alida Wilcox in 2022; brothers, Paul Wilcox and Howard Wilcox; sister, Lottie Wilcox; and half-sister, Millice Moore. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Compton and husband Mark of Arizona, and Joan Wilcox of Frostproof; son, Robert Wilcox and wife Kimberly of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania; sister, Hattie Wilson; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later time.
