Clay Finney

Clay Finney of Frostproof passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Palm Terrace Hospice House in Lakeland.

He was born September 12, 1918 in Itawamba County, MS to the late Joseph and Lucie Finney; and came to this area in 1957 from Fulton, MS. He worked as a harvester for various citrus companies, and was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed salt and fresh water fishing, working in his vegetable garden and working on his house.

Clay was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly. Survivors include his son, Joseph W. "Jody" Amerson, Jr. and wife Miki of Lakeland; grandchildren, Melissa and husband Mike Barnett, Matthew Amerson, Joshua and wife Sandra Amerson, Jared Amerson; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Austin, Cailey, Taylor, Tori, Madison, and Aubrey.

A private family service will be held.
