Chester Atis Smith

Chester A. Smith of Frostproof passed away Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland.

He was born September 22, 1923 in Cottonwood, Alabama to the late Francis M. And Bethey (Strickland) Smith. He has been a resident of the Frostproof area since 1967. He was a Pallet Carpenter for Hunt Brothers Citrus for 30 years, and of the Baptist faith.

Chester was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Harry and Larry Smith; and grandson, Jamie Smith. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn B. Smith; son, Jerry Michael Smith of Lakeland, FL; sister, Lula Brown of Hahira, GA; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof with Rev. Wrynn Collins officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Frostproof, from 12:00 PM until service time.
