LAKE WALES-Chester Kingdon Peltier, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 28, 2008 of heart failure.
He was born October 8, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Patricia Peltier, his five daughter & their spouses: Pamela Peltier of Lake Wales, FL, Linda Christine Alger of Miami, FL, Nancy Allen & Ricky of Crewe, VA, Julie Neil & Rowland of Miami, FL, Valerie Jennings & Rick of Dover, FL, eight grandchildren & their spouses, Tracy Alger, Alicia Quig, Jennifer Rickman, Regina Tow, Kimberly Garner & Randy, Chester Quig, Rowland Neil V, Kelly Hicks & Jesse and two great-grandchildren, Lukas Edward Kingdon Quig & Kailey Garner.
Foremost, he was a devoted family man, kind and loving. In service he gave generously of his time to his God, family, church and community.
He served during Word War II in the Army Air Corp. & was stationed in England from 1943 – 1946. A life member of NALC Branch #1071, a member of NARFE, former member of Tiger Lake Lions Club and a faithful, active member & Trustee of Indian Lake United Methodist Church.
He was a long time resident of Miami, FL where he retired in 1978 from the US Postal Service after thirty three years as a Letter Carrier.
A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, July 2 at 11:00 am, Indian Lake United Methodist Church, Indian Lake Estates, FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Indian Lake United Methodist Church, Lake Wales Care Center, Cornerstone Hospice of Auburndale.
