LAKE WALES--Charlotte B. Linkis of Lake Wales died of heart failure Monday, February 05, 2007 at her residence. She was 88.

Born July 18, 1918 in Hartford, CT; she came here from Windsor, CT over 30 years ago. She was a retired bookkeeper at City Supply & Paper in CT and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lake Wales. She was a Lake Wales Medical Center Yellow Lady volunteer and a Care Center volunteer. She managed Meals on Wheels in Lake Wales for several years, a member of Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) and the Order of Amaranth.

Mrs. Linkis was preceded in death by her husband, Janis Linkis in 1988. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara and John Clifford of Vernon, CT; sister, Helen B. Green of Lake Wales; grandchildren, Wesley Newth and Laura-Jeanne Pellerin; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, February 09, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home with Chaplain Barbara Clifford officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lake Wales Care Center, 140 East Park Avenue, Lake Wales, Florida 33853.
