Charles Bronson Wolford, 86
Charles Bronson Wolford of Lake Wales passed away Monday, July 31, 2023 at AdventHealth Lake Wales.
He was born August 8, 1936 in Freeburn, Kentucky to the late Omer and Maggie Wolford; he moved to Lake Wales from Turkey Creek, Kentucky in 1989. Charles was a retired coal miner. He was an active member, volunteer, and singer at Impact Church and was a member of The Golden Ager’s Group. Charles was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He was a volunteer for the organization Keep Polk County Beautiful, Bok Tower Gardens for 17 years, and the Circle of Friends Ministry.
Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, Leon Wolford, Roger Wolford, and Jimmy Mitchell; sisters, Ruby Meeker and Linda Ann Gullett; grandson, Derek Wolford; and stepfather, Dewey Runyon. He is survived by his wife, Birdie Wolford; son, Charles “Dewey” Wolford and wife Anett of Lake Wales; brothers, C.D. Wolford and wife Esteline of Sarah Ann, West Virginia, and Willie Wolford and wife Brenda of Cleveland, Ohio; and granddaughter, Hannah Wolford Mitchell and husband Tyler.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2023 at Impact Church with Pastor Walter Nelson officiating.
