LAKE WALES -- Mr. Charles M. Stewart of Lake Wales died of heart failure Sunday (May 21, 2006) at Brandon Regional Hospital. He was 65.

Born in Harlan County, Ky., on Aug. 14, 1940, he came to Lake Wales from Ohio, in 1971. He was the owner and operator of Stewart's Furniture Store in Lake Wales. He was an Army veteran. He was a Pentecostal.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Minnie Stewart; daughters, Barbara Ann Ward, Guam, Patricia Stewart, Wahneta, Elizabeth Taylor, Bartow; stepdaughter, Tina Denise White, Mount Dora; sons, Ray Stewart, Virginia, Jeffrey Stewart, Haines City; stepson, Curtis Wayne McMickin, Hamilton, Ala.; brothers, Billy Stewart, Black Mountain, N.C., Johnny Stewart, Winter Haven; sister, Dottie Palmer, Black Mountain; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel.
