Charles Robarts

Charles Robarts passed away at home peacefully with his family September 12, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He was born January 1, 1934 in Stuart, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, C. Frank and Beatrice Lee Robarts; his brothers, Jimmy and Eddie Robarts; sisters, Dorothy Plair and Nancy Smith; step-father, W.Q. Dawes; step-brothers, Doyle, Orville and Clint Dawes; step-sisters, Chloetelle Weaver and Geral Marie Allison. He was survived by his wife of 60 years, Luann Robarts; daughters, Brenda Ann Hodge Jones and husband, Donald of Babson Park and Carolyn Sue Rogers and husband, Terry of Bonifay; sons, Charles Frank Robarts Jr. and wife, Leslie of Frostproof and Travis Eugene Robarts and wife, Marisol of Frostproof; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He was also survived by his step-brother, Kenneth Dawes and wife, Delores of Vero Beach and step-sister, Yvonne Plair Peavey and husband, J.W. of Lakeland. He was a member and Deacon at the Southside Baptist Church in Frostproof. Charles and his wife, Luann developed, owned and operated Robarts Mobile Home and R.V. Park for 24 years, now known as Lakemont Ridge M.H. and R.V. Park. They also owned and operated Lake Letta Campground in Sebring, for seven years and Sugar Sands Mobile Home and R.V. Park in Frostproof now known as Sunset Shores M.H. and R.V. Park for four years. Charles was also a commercial and residential painting contractor in Frostproof, as well as building and construction, in his spare time he enjoyed fishing. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, September 28th at 6:00 PM at the Southside Baptist Church in Frostproof. Contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice at 105 Arneson Avenue Auburndale, Florida 33823 or Southside Baptist Church Building Fund at 314 S. Scenic Hwy Frostproof, Florida 33843.
