Charles Samuel McKee, 91

Charles Samuel McKee of Lake Wales passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at Lakeland Regional Hospital.

He was born June 29, 1932, in Decatur, Mississippi to the late John and Nora McKee; he moved to Lake Wales from Tampa over 40 years ago. Charles was a retired jet mechanic for the United States Air Force. He was proud of his military service, especially the time he spent taking care of The U2. Charles loved taking care of his home and property. He always looked forward to eating at Golden Corral on Mondays.

Charles is survived by his wife, Beverly Jeanette McKee; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Stearns and husband Troy of Gainesville; son, Thomas McKee and wife Becky of Haines City; grandchildren, Charles McKee, Nathan Stearns, and LeAnn Repass; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside service with honors will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
