LAKE WALES--Charles Henry Jenkins, 75, of Lake Wales died Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Lake Wales Medical Center.

Born September 07, 1931 in Darling, MS; he came here from Mississippi 45 years ago. He was a mechanic at Citrust World. Mr. Jenkins was a member of Day Star Church of God in Lake Wales, and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was a HAMM radio operator and loved to work with wood.

Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Jenkins. Survivors include his step-daughter, Glentis Newman of Davenport; step-sons, Donald Daughtry of Lake Wales; Hank Daughtry of Ft. Lauderdale; grandchildren, Jodi , Eric, Andy, Frankie & Keirsten Daughtry all of Ft. Lauderdale; Tiffany Buell, Will & Deryl Faison, Perry Daughtry all of Lake Wales, Rusty Daughtry of Oregon; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. James A. Fenley officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Wales Cemetery.
