Charles A.”Charlie” Ellis, 77

Charles Allen Ellis of Lakeland was born on June 24, 1944, in Bereah, Florida to the late Thomas and Ernie Ellis and passed away on March 2, 2022. He was a lifelong resident of Polk County, a member of the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Winter Haven, served the National Guard, and belonged to the American Legion Post 8 in Winter Haven.

He was an Insurance Agent for 20 yrs. at Bullard Insurance Agency and retired with Lance Vending Machine. He loved to Golf, Fish and was an avid Gator Fan.

Charlie is preceded in death by his brothers Calvin, Ralph, and Little Jimmy; he is survived by his daughter Virginia (Jinney) Malanowski and husband Jonathan of Lakeland, Margaret (Maggie) Taylor and husband Stephen of Lake Wales; sister Yvonne Fielding of Winter Haven; and grandchildren Samantha, Stella, Braxton, Warren, Ellis, and Aryton.

Memorial Services will be held in the chapel at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales on Thursday March 10, 2022, at 6:00 PM, with his son-in-law Reverend Jonathan Malanowski officiating. Inurnment will be held in Corinth Cemetery in Bereah at a later date.
