Charles "Chuck" Babcock

Charles “Chuck” Babcock of Winter Haven, Florida, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at his residence.

Chuck was born in Coloma, Michigan on August, 30, 1935 to Russell M. and Mabel (Paul) Babcock. He was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School, veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired tool and die maker at the Portage, GM  plant in Portage, Michigan. On March 5, 1956 he married Ernestine Lindbauer of Wells, Austria, sharing a lifetime together until her passing in 2014. He is survived by his son, Erwin Babcock and granddaughter, Tanya Babcock, both of Orlando, Florida. Brother, Wayne (Lois) Babcock of Kalamazoo, Michigan and sister, Sandra Babcock McNary, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Also surviving are several nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces, and special friend, Theresa White.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ernestine, and brother Paul F. Babcock. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to niece Denise and husband, Terry Higginbotham of Lake Wales, for their gracious and loving caretaking during his last months, offering peace of mind to Chuck and all of his family.

Cremation will take place with internment to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
