Carolyn Smith, 88

Carolyn Smith of Lake Wales passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

She was born May 18, 1936 in Hartford City, Indiana to the late Dane and Esther Careins; she moved to Lake Wales from her hometown in 2010. Carolyn was a retired teacher for Eastbrook Community School and was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Winter Haven where she sang. She enjoyed singing karaoke and playing mahjong.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 70 years, Dick Smith; daughter, Lisa Jones (Jeff) of Greenwood, Indiana; son, Brian Smith of Hartford City, Indiana and Scott Smith of Winter Haven; sister, Kathi Plummer (Bob) of Lake Wales; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
