Carolyn Maxine Scruggs

Carolyn Maxine Scruggs, 80, of Frostproof, passed away Friday in Lake Wales.
Born April 2, 1937, in Frostproof, to the late Cliston and Birtha (Gray) Rhoden she has been a life long resident of this area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Frostproof where she was very active. She loved her church and her family time and enjoyed giving to everyone whether they were family or friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin and her brother, Clyde “Buddy” Wise. She was survived by her children, Dennis Scruggs of Avon Park and Lynn Scruggs of Frostproof; sisters, Christine Archer of Winter Haven and Gail Messick Perlaki of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Amanda, Charles, Cliston, Brittani, BreAnna and BreOnka; great grandchildren; Aaliyah, Alana, Aniyah, Everlee, Jackson, Jalynne, Payten, Abigayle, Logan, and Brayden.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Frostproof. The committal service will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery.
