Carol Marie Lamphere, 86
Carol Marie Lamphere, born April 3, 1939, in Alpena, Michigan, passed away on March 29, 2026, in Lake Wales, Florida. She was a dedicated librarian clerk at the Apopka Library, where she served her community with care and commitment passing on her love of books and reading to many.
Carol was a believer in Jesus and of the Baptist faith, which guided her throughout her life. She is remembered for her gentle spirit and devotion to family and friends. After caring for her family, her greatest dream was to travel. After her children were raised and she found herself a widow, she made that dream a reality. She spent many happy years travelling throughout the United States in her RV, even making it as far as Alaska. Her research skills were invaluable as she planned each trip. Always choosing the smaller back roads over the busy interstates and stopping at many historical sites and other places of interest along the way.
She loved to take her grandchildren whenever they could go and they were able to experience so many sights and places with her. Although she often travelled with a group of other RV travellers, when she travelled alone she said she was never really alone because her Lord was always looking after her and He was with her wherever she went.
She is survived by her daughter, Amilee Marie Stuckey of Lake Wales, Florida; and her son, Glenn Allen Stuckey of Stephenville, Texas. Carol also leaves behind her sister, Marion Crites of Apopka, Florida; As well as her grandchildren, Justin Stuckey, Joel Stuckey, Ethan Kalapp, Lindsey Stuckey, Alayne Kalapp, and Liam Kalapp, along with one great-grandchild.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert Carpenter and Florence Alverta Butler, her first husband Alfred R. Stuckey, her second husband George W. Lamphere, and her granddaughter Karah Kalapp.
Her memory will endure in the hearts of those who knew her, a testament to a full life lived with love, kindness, and devotion to family and faith.
