Carl Lee “Sonny” Wood, 67

Carl Lee "Sonny" Wood of Lake Wales passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 at his residence.

He was born December 18, 1955 in Haines City, Florida to the late Carl and Janie Wood. He was married to the love of his life for over 30 years. Sonny was a craftsman of his trade as a welder and loved being able to work with his family at RNK Welding. He was well know for his big bear hugs and could light up a whole room with his sense of humor. To know him was to love him. Sonny was the best husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbor and friend. He will be missed.

Sonny was preceded in death, by his beloved wife, Donna K. Wood in 2021. He is survived by his children: Karla Wood of Lake Wales, Clayton Wood of Lake Wales, Sherri Dixon and Maxwell of Winter Haven, Crystal Jackson and Michael of Winter Haven. Siblings Carol Ayers and Ron of Frostproof, Lamar Wood and Angie of Lake Wales, Tammie Penna and Mark of Pine Island, Charlotte Stevens (deceased). Grandchildren: DJ, Zac, Colby, Brant, Anna and Luke.

A celebration of life will be scheduled.
