Carl Douglas Castle, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on June 6, 1947, in Ironton, Ohio, Doug was known for his unwavering spirit, joyful pursuits, and commitment to his family and community.

A proud Navy Veteran, Doug served his country with honor, a testament to his strong character and dedication. He was a respected member of the Shady Hammock Baptist Church, where his faith flourished and contributed to the bonds he formed throughout his life. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passions for hunting and fishing, activities that offered him joy and fulfillment. Music was something that was always special to Doug, whether it was listening to songs in the car with his family, singing along to worship music at church, or just having something playing in the background around the house; music always had a place in his heart.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, William Otto Castle, his mother, Virginia Maxine Holley, his son, Carl Brian Castle, and his brother, Joseph Castle. He also mourned the loss of his grandchildren, Cody Castle, Kaitlyn Kinard, and Jansen Castle.

Doug was a devoted family man who leaves behind his beloved wife, Wanda Faye Castle, and their three children: Ginny Marie Castle of Lake Wales, Florida; Paige Maxine Deal and her husband Brian of Bartow, Florida; and Christopher Douglas Castle and his wife Tiffany of Claxton, Georgia. He also is survived by his sister, Marilee Kuykendall (Louis) of Clermont, Florida, and his brother, "Sonny" Castle and wife Lois of Winter Haven, Florida.

His legacy continues through his grandchildren, who brought him great joy: Hollie Hadden (Kory), Taylor Rimes, Jessica Vidro (Mike), McKinley Lawson (Ryan), Faith Miners, Autumn Castle, Wyatt Castle, Dixie Castle, Victoria Rupert, Victor Fuentes, Cade Allen, Leon Allen, Jared Castle (Nichole), Joshua Castle, Kendall Castle, and Trent Kinard; along with 16 great-grandchildren and several other family members.
