Carl L. “Buddy” Capps of Fairbanks, Alaska and Babson Park passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at his residence in Fairbanks.
He was born January 11, 1938 in Lake Wales to the late George William & Theresa Maud Capps. He was a winter resident of Lake Wales and attended the Trinity Baptist Church. He enjoyed country, gospel and blue grass music, computers and Flywheeler’s conventions.
Carl was preceded in death by his children, Raymond and Krystal; sister, Carrie Pearl Futch and brother, George William Capps. Survivors include his daughters, Karen Osgood of Bellingham, WA, Kelli Saylor (John) of Bellingham, WA, Karla Tasa (Larry) of Bend, OR and Carrie Craighead of Shawsville, VA; sons, Carl W. “Willie” Capps (Melissa) of Christiansburg, VA and Kevin L. Capps (Patty) of Seattle, WA; sisters, Theresa Capps McCollough (Bobby) of Lake Wales and Peggy Jean Smith of Babson Park; 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the funeral service at 3:00 pm Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Trinity Baptist Church, Building Fund (2601 State Road 60 East, Lake Wales, Florida 33898).
