Capt. Daniel W. Arnold

Captain Dan Arnold passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale.

He was born June 19, 1921 in Arcadia, Florida to the late Charley and Mertie Elizabeth (Welch) Arnold; and has been a lifelong resident of Florida moving to the area from Ruskin, FL. He retired as Captain for the US Marine Corp. after 21 years, serving in World War II. He was also Vice President for Bank of America and a member of the First Baptist Church of Frostproof.

Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Arnold; daughter, Loretta Windham; 3 sisters; 1 brother; and parents. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa McGinnis of Winter Haven; sister, Ruth Smith of Sarasota; granddaughter, Victoria Windham Ashworth of Palm City; and great-grandson, Jacob Ashworth of Palm City.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
