LAKE WALES -- Mrs. Lucille McMullen of Lake Wales died of heart failure Sunday (Dec. 4, 2005) in Lake Wales. She was 78.

Born in Myakka City on July 24, 1927, she came to Lake Wales from Arcadia 55 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a Protestant.

Mrs. McMullen was preceded in death by her husband, John Buford McMullen. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Temples, Anderson, S.C., Lillian Findley, Babson Park, Carolyn Fenley, Dundee, Marilyn K. Bush, Waverly, and Susan Lake, Old Town; son, Jody McMullen, Lake Wales; brother, John Henry Peters, Norfolk, Va.; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Lake Wales Cemetery.
