Brian John Kazin, 63
Major Brian John Kazin, U.S. Army Retired, of Babson Park, Florida, passed away Saturday, January 9 th , 2021 at his residence.
Brian was born July 12 th , 1957 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania to the late John and Norma Kazin. He grew up in Erie, PA, where he graduated from McDowell HS, before moving on to Gannon College of Erie, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. While in college, Brian was proud to serve as a volunteer firefighter at the Kearsarge Fire Department. Upon graduation, Brian began his active-duty military career in the U.S. Army that took him and his family all over the country. Brian retired from the Army as a Major in 1996 and began work as a financial advisor before ultimately hitting the road as an over the road truck driver. He settled in Babson Park in 2015 where he recently found an interest in politics in Hillcrest Heights. Brian was also an avid fisherman and could often be found on the water trying to catch catfish with his beloved canine companion Ziggy. When he was not fishing, Brian was either working on his house (where he was quick to lend a hand to a neighbor), relaxing in the pool, or enjoying a movie with a friend.
Brian is survived by his two sons, Gerald Kazin of Round Rock, Texas and Mark Kazin and wife Colleen and their two children (grandchildren), Claire and Ellie Kazin, of League City, Texas. He is further survived by his sisters, Jeane Hauser and husband Matthew of Ellicott City, MD, Eileen Murdock and husband Michael of Erie, PA, and Lynne Mangan and husband Jim of Lebanon, TN, as well as several nieces and nephews.
