Bobby Edward Whitehead, 64, of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at his residence from cancer.

Born November 30, 1943 in Geneva, AL; he moved to Haines City at age 5, and came to Lake Wales as a young adult. He was a packing house manager for Hunt Brothers, was a member of the Lake Garfield Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed golfing, family times, and was active in his church.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Daughtry Whitehead of Lake Wales; daughter, Kristi Kai, and husband Shawn, Bryant of Lake Wales; sons, Keith Allan, and wife Vicki, Whitehead of Haines City; Rusty, and wife Diane, Daughtry of Medford, OR; Perry, and wife Lisa, Daughtry of Lake Wales; brother, Charlie Whitehead of Indiana; sisters, Nell Hicks of Winter Haven; Sue Schrover of Indiana; and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 until service time at 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cornerstone Hospice or Lake Garfield Baptist Church Building Fund.
