Bobby Joe Rose

Bobby Joe Rose, 74, of Lake Wales passed away April 13, 2015 at his residence.

He was born January 13, 1941 in Habersham, TN to Charles J. & Mae Jane Rose; and he has been a resident of the area since 1960. He was a retired truck driver and business owner of Rose Trucking. He was also a member of the Hickory Club in Slidell, LA.

Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Jane Rose; mother, Mae Jane Baird; nieces, Melinda Jane Kidwell and Milissa Jane Stepans; and nephews, Luis Angel Gonzalez and Ronald Houston Baird. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Gloria Rose of Lake Wales; sons, Roland J. Vargas-Rose and Rumaldo Laija both of Lake Wales; daughters, Nadine Laija Wright of Mississippi and Laura Pendleton of Lake Wales; siblings, Kathryn Stephens of Piqua, OH, Hubert Rose of Haleyville, AL, Phyllis Pagel of Millville, OH, Alberta Cole of Hamilton, OH, Jerry Baird of LaFollette, TN, Brenda Baird, Glenda Richards, Eddy Michael Baird, William Baird and Ida Elaine Smith all of Habersham, TN; granddaughters, Connie Tate, Hanna Laija and Toni Pendleton; grandsons, Robert Wright, Marvin Wright, Wesley Hendrix, Jacob Laija and Jamie Land; eight great-grandchildren, twenty one nieces , twenty three nephews and was a father figure to countless others such as James Mott and Teresa Sanchez.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Whidden Cemetery.
