ROBERT ALLAN “BOB” GERVAIS, 84 Robert Allan “Bob” Gervais of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Life Care Center of Winter Haven. He was born January 29, 1938 to the late Herbert and Dorothy Gervais; he graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy High School and excelled at football, baseball, basketball and track. After high school he attended a year at Middlebury College, then enlisted in the U.S. Army in February 1958 for three years. He completed his basic training in Fort Dix, NJ, then Medical Services School at Fort Sam Houston, Texas and was later stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. Following his time in the military, Bob was a medical technologist at Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Burlington, VT for 32 years. After retiring in 1993, Bob came to Lake Wales, where he worked at Mountain Lake in the Pro Shop for 20 years. He was an avid golfer and sports fan. He was proud to have shot his age in golf at 75 and 77. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Spadaccini; second wife, Evelyn Gervais; sisters, Betty Cowens and Barbara Hodgson; and brothers, Norman and James Gervais. Survivors include his sons, Shawn Gervais (Christy) of Virginia and Robert Gervais (Julie) of California; step-children, Kathrynlyn Atwood, Kenneth Hoeppner and Joseph Hoeppner; sister, Patricia Turner of Milton, VT; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; first wife, Ann Przekurat of Venice and companion, Ginger Magoon of Lake Wales. Memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Veteran’s Administration.
