Billy Joe Welcher, 70

Billy Joe Welcher of Lake Wales passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 at his residence.

He was born April 15, 1952 in Abbeville, Alabama to the late Julian and Maddie Welcher. Billy was a retired supervisor from Orange Industrial Services, Inc. and a veteran of the United States Army. He loved nascar and Alabama football but loved his family most of all.

Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Thorn. He is survived by his wife, Virginia L. Welcher; daughters, Mary Freeman Scalise and husband Richard of Deltona, and Cindy Ann Hill and husband Bobby of Lake Wales, and Stacy Welcher of Spanaway, Washington; son, Patrick Welcher of Tacoma, Washington; sister, Betty Taylor of Alabama; grandchildren, Britni Wilkerson and husband Mike, Autumn Hill and husband Foster, Austin Scalise, Alexander Scalise and spouse, Hunter Ragan and husband Joshua, Piper Welcher, and Alexis Welcher; and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at the family residence at a later date.
