LAKE WALES -- Mr. Billy L. Johnson of Lake Wales died of heart failure Sunday (Oct. 23, 2005) at Winter Haven Hospital. He was 67.

Born in Blakely, Ga., on April 2, 1938, he came to Lake Wales from Early County, Ga., in 1956. He was a postal worker. He coached at Lake Wales Little League. He was a member of Golfview Church of God where he was a Sunday school teacher.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Johnson. He is survived by his brother, Wiley Johnson, Lakeland; sisters, Virgie Jenkins, Shellman, Ga., Juanita Davis, Polk City, Mamie Dale Coley, Shellman, Ga.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 this evening at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales. Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Lake Wales Cemetery.
