Billy A. Ellis

Billy A. Ellis of Frostproof passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at his residence.

He was born July 19, 1930 in Frostproof to the late A. Bernard & Eva Ellis and was a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Frostproof High School in 1948 and was a crop dusting pilot in his younger years. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Frostproof and was a veteran of Korea, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and being in his pasture with the cows; but will be most remembered for his kind, gentle demeanor that he got from his mother, Eva.

Billy was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Kathleen Ellis; a son, Billy A. Ellis, Jr.; and siblings, Ruby Benton, Aaron B. Ellis, Jr. and Julia Livingston. Survivors include his son, Ronald Ellis of Palm Bay; sisters, Minnie Dempsey of Frostproof and Dolly Woodley of Frostproof; and many nieces and nephews, including, his caregiver J.B. Benton and wife, Kim of Sebring.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Interment will follow at the Silver Hill Cemetery.
