FROSTPROOF -- Mr. Billy Owen Brown of Frostproof died of heart failure Wednesday (Feb. 8, 2006) at James Haley VA Hospital in Tampa. He was 69.

Born in Frostproof on May 30, 1936, he was a longtime resident. He was a retired police officer in the Santa Anna, Calif., area. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a Baptist.

Mr. Brown is survived by his brothers, Gordon W. Brown, Frostproof, Jimmie Brown, Lake Wales, and sister, Margaret Sheffield, Frostproof.
