Billie Jean Long passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, at her residence in Lake Wales, Florida.

Billie Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William Mason in 1982 and their newborn daughter, Teresa Ann (1957). She is survived by her son, Larry Mason (Mitzi) of Paducah, Kentucky; daughter, Shanda Jean Woolman (Danny) of Lake Wales; grandchildren, Heath (Casey), Chase (Kristen), Amanda, Kirklyn (Jackson) and Christina; and her great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Audrey, Mason, Dusty, Adeline, Michael, Jayden, and Noah.

She was born February 11, 1931, in Marion, Kentucky to the late William and Geneva Turner; she moved to Lake Wales from Paducah, Kentucky in 1982. Billie loved the Lord and served as the pianist for First Baptist Church of Frostproof for over 30 years. Before moving to Florida, she was a piano teacher and previously served as a civilian employee for the United States Air Force.

Spending countless hours serving in the office of the Tae Kwon Do School of Excellence, she demonstrated her unwavering support and love for her family and this community. Billie Jean's unique style, complete with high heels, showcased her vibrant personality and left a lasting impression on all who knew her. An honorary Black Belt, Billie Jean was not only a pillar of strength but also a beacon of hope and inspiration. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband, William Mason, in Salem, Kentucky.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church of Frostproof on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with her grandson, Dr. Heath Woolman, officiating. The family will receive guests during a visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
