Betty J. Wooten, 80, of Lake Wales passed away Monday, January 07, 2008 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

Born October 17, 1927 in Henry County, IN; she moved to Haines City in 1994 from Pendleton, IN and came to Lake Wales in 2000. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed dancing, painting, and family time; was a member of the Eastern Star in Shirley, IN; and was a friendly person who enjoyed meeting strangers.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Dephra J. Wooten of Lake Wales; daughters, Nancy Gross of Lake Wales; Jena Hall of Newport, AR; Mary Ellen Bradburn of Anderson, IN; Doris Wooten of Cedar Springs, MI; sons, Gary Wooten of Edmund, OK; Daniel Wooten of Bloomington, IN; sisters, Lois Kendall of New Castle, IN; Ana Lee Davis of Pendleton, IN; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, January 11, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
