Betty Daughtry Scruggs

Betty Daughtry Scruggs of Frostproof passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at her residence.

She was born July 18, 1935 in Evergreen, AL to the late John F. & Marie J. (Godwin) Daughtry; and came here from Evergreen, AL in 1954. She retired from Ben Hill Griffin and an active member of the Frostproof Church of God; she was a Sunday School secretary and long time leader of the Ladies Ministry. She devoted her time to helping others.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Marion R. Scruggs. Survivors include her son, David R. Scruggs (Janna) of Orlando; brother, John Daughtry of Greenville, AL; sisters, Joyce Clark of Houston, TX, Patricia Crane of Cape Canaveral, FL, Shirley Mixon of Montgomery, AL and Johnnie Palestina of New Orleans, LA; two grandchildren, Joshua and Aaron.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Frostproof Church of God with Rev. Phillip Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
