Betty Jean Parker

Betty Jean Parker (90) of Frostproof, in the Lake Mont Ridge MHP, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

She was born May 20, 1921 in Union City, PA to the late Floyd & Nettie (Davison) Beardsley; and she came here from Saegertown, PA in 1979. She was a retired floor supervisor for Sylvania/GTE and a member of the Southside Baptist Church of Frostproof. She was a former member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #9853 in Avon Park and a member of the Elks B.P.O.E. of Lake Wales.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Parker in 1994, step-father, Frank C. Williams and brother, James Beardsley; nephew, Michael Beardsley. Survivors include her niece, Catherine Fogleson of Union City, PA; grand-nephew, Ronald & Linda Giesler of Gilbert, AZ; great-grand-niece, Sara Giesler of Gilbert, AZ; sister-in-law, Nellie Beardsley of Edinboro, PA; step-daughters, Eleanor McIntyre of Vero Beach and Clara Briggs of Jamestown, NY; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held 4:00 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Southside Baptist Church in Frostproof with Rev. Steve Bass officiating.
