Betty Mae Underwood, 81

Betty Mae Underwood of Frostproof passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at her residence.

She was born December 31, 1940 in Frostproof to the late Clinton and Maybell McElroy. Betty was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Church of Frostproof. She loved to cook and was always taking care of someone; it was her joy to take care of her family.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Ray Underwood in 2004; four brothers; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Sue Heckendorn and husband Danny of Newville, Pennsylvania, Missy Mathews and husband Howard of Frostproof; sons, Rocky Underwood and wife Maru of Lake Wales, Ricky Underwood and wife Lori of Frostproof, Glenn Underwood of Frostproof, and Wayne Underwood of Frostproof; sister, Bo Foster of South Haven, Michigan, and Dolly Foster and husband Albert of South Haven, Michigan; 36 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2022 at New Hope Church in Frostproof with Howard Mathews and Kyle Michael Thornton officiating.
