LAKE WALES--Betty A. Ingley Story, 86, of Lake Wales died Saturday, August 04, 2007 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.
Born March 09, 1921 in Owensboro, Kentucky; she came here with her husband following World War II. She was a homemaker and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. She was active on the Alter Guild at her church for over 40 years. She was an officer, past-president, and treasurer of the Lake Wales Chapter CD of P.E.O.; a member of the Lake Wales Garden Club; the Lake Wales Hospital Guild; the Lake Wales High School Band Association; and a Cub Scout den mother.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, H.A. Ingley Jr.; her second husband, Victor B. Story Sr.; and step-son, Terry Story. Survivors include her sons, Roger A. & Kay Ingley of Lake Wales; H.A. “Skip” Ingley III of Gainesville; step-son, Victor B. & Ann Story Jr. of Lake Wales; sisters, Joy Baxter of Orlando; Judy Vandruff of San Diego, CA; daughter-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Story of Frostproof; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 08, 2007 at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with Rev. Father Thomas C. Seitz Jr. and Father John B.G. “Jack” Roberts officiating. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 221 South 4th Street, Lake Wales, Florida 33853; P.E.O. Scholarship Fund, c/o Paula Templeton, 3441 Harbor Beach Drive, Lake Wales, Florida 33859; or the Lake Wales Care Center, 140 East Park Avenue, Lake Wales, Florida 33853.
