Betty Helms Crews, 91

Betty Helms Crews of Frostproof passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 at her residence.

She was born December 14, 1930 in Wauchula to the late Collie and Dorothy Helms; she moved to Frostproof from Hialeah in 1960. Betty was a Lab Technician for P & G and a member of the First Baptist Church of Frostproof in which she was very active. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, and going to the beach. Overall, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a great southern cook and she never missed any of her grandkids sporting events.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest B. Crews, Jr. in 1987. She is survived by her daughters, Darla Cutchen of Frostproof, Denise Crews of Frostproof, and Dorothy Perry and husband Gary of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; brother, George Helms of Wauchula; five granddaughters; and three great-granddaughters.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Frostproof with Pastor Matt Collins officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Cemetery in Sebring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor can be made to Victory Ridge Academy (victoryridge.org/donate/).
