BETTY H. BROWN, 86

Betty H. Brown of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Wedgewood of Winter Haven.

She was born February 7, 1926 in Loveland, OH to the late George & Ruth Howard; and she was a winter resident of the Lake Wales area for 15 years coming from New Berlin, IL before moving permanently in 1982. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Lake Wales Presbyterian Church.

She was the Ladies Golf Champion, Grenelefe in 1981, the Lake Wales Country Club Golf Champion in 1983 and won the Jacksonville, IL Country Club Championship for five years. She was a graduate of DePauw University and a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Alden Brown in 2001. Family includes her nephews, Robert Brown of Brentwood, TN and Kent Brown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; brother-in-law, William Brown of Littleton, CO; friend, Peggy Davis of Winter Haven; and caregiver, Diane Ortiz of Eagle Lake.
