FROSTPROOF--Bessie M. Wardlaw of Frostproof died of heart failure Sunday (10-08-2006) at Alterra Clare Bridge Cottage in Winter Haven. She was 95.
Born in Wedowee, Alabama on May 02, 1911, she moved to Frostproof in 1927. She was a graduate of Florida Southern College and a former school teacher. She was a homemaker, citrus grower and member of the First United Methodist Church of Frostproof.
Mrs. Wardlaw was preceded in death by her husband, Wade H. Wardlaw and daughter, Carol W. Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce W. Strickland of Frostproof; four grandchildren, Kristie Geddie, Shannon Strickland, Stephen Smith and Wade Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis Johnson, Kailey Smith and Jake Smith.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
