Bernice Z. Lawful of Kissimmee passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 at her residence.

She was born October 9, 1941 in Saint Catherine, Jamaica to the late Novar Archibald McDonald and Ida Mae McCalla; she moved to Kissimmee 23 years ago, coming from Jamaica. She was a retired deputy city manager and member of the St Johns Episcopal Church in Kissimmee.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Kenroy B. Lawful; daughters, Andrea Lawful Sanders (John), Karen Lawful Mullings (Steve), Kelly-Ann Lawful Symer (Denny) and April Lawful-Wray (Mark); honorary daughter, Marsha Burnett; godsister, Sadie Boone; five grandchildren, Charles Alexander (Nisa), Andre, David (Li-Shann), Alyssa and Julian; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte Ann and Charles Xavier; brother, Everton (Joyce); sister, Eulah; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 at High Point Church in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Memorial Gardens.
