Bernice Brooks, 82

Bernice Brooks of Frostproof passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Good George C. Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale.

She was born June 19, 1942 in Swainsboro, Georgia to the late Thomas and Addie Peebles; she moved to Frostproof from Georgia in 1964. Bernice was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing, flowers, cooking for her family, and reading. Bernice loved her kids and grandkids. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Lee Brooks; brother, Kermit Peebles; and stepson, David Brooks. She is survived by her daughters, Toni Meeks (Terry) of Babson Park and Carol Pelletier of Covington, Louisiana; son, Jed Pelletier (Cindy) of Frostproof; stepdaughter, Rebecca Johnston of Georgia; stepson, Howard Brooks of Sebring; sister, Kay Jefferies of Frostproof; 8 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2024 at Frostproof Church of God with Pastor Sam Haag officiating.
