Bennie Mauldin

March 11, 1926 — July 14, 2009

Bennie Mauldin of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born March 11, 1926 in DeFuniak Springs to the late Earl & Claudie Mae Mauldin; he came here 60 years ago from west Florida. He was a retired civil engineer for Citrus World for 43 years, a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Hamilton and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was also a past member of Rotary and enjoyed computers, gardening and ball games.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Tina Bryant. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty J. Mauldin; daughters, Abigail Louie (Mark) of Brandon and Brenda Welch of Lake Wales; sons, Ronnie Mauldin (Nancy) of Daytona, Roger Mauldin of Jacksonville and David Stewart (Brenda) of Zolfo Springs; sister, Jean Hall of Lake Wales; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is greatly loved by all and will be missed dearly.

The funeral service will be held 10:30 AM, Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
