Benjamin Jay Dempsey, 60

Benjamin Jay Dempsey of Sebring passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at AdventHealth, Sebring.

He was born April 9, 1962 in Boynton Beach to the late C.C. and Minnie Dempsey. He moved to Sebring from Frostproof eight years ago. Benjamin was a retired bagger and stocker for Futral Grocery Store in Frostproof and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Frostproof. He was a good standing member of the Frostproof Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rites of Tampa.

Benjamin is survived by his cousins, Marsha Manley and husband Buddy of Sebring, Judy Bagwell of Frostproof, Daniel Norris and wife Carolyn of Frostproof, Anna Langford and husband David of Avon Park, Ronald Ellis and wife Oha of Palm Bay, Florida, Mary Ivey of Frostproof, Cindy Therfall and husband Danny of Detroit Michigan, J. B. Benton and wife Kim of Sebring, Michael Woodley of Frostproof, and Beth Brown of Frostproof; and many second cousins and friends.

A meet and greet will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Interment will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor can be made to the Frostproof Masonic Lodge (Post Office Box 367, Frostproof, Florida 33843).
