Barbara Jean Walker

Barbara Jean Walker of Frostproof passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Winter Haven Hospital.

She was born October 28, 1937 in Kankakee, IL to the late Gene & Geneieve Wilder; and she came here from Kankakee, IL 16 years ago. She was a retired mental health technician at the Shaprio Development Center and was of the Catholic faith.

Barbara was preceded in death by two sons, Eddie Curwick and David Walker. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Charles James Walker, Jr; daughter, Theresa M. Martin of Frostproof and her son, Joshua K. Martin; sons, James Curwick (Sharon) of Port St. Lucie, Bob Walker (Sandy) of Kankakee, IL and Rick Walker of Frostproof; brothers, Gene Wilder Jr of Bourbonais, IL and Robert Wilder of Bourbonais, IL; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and Theresa Martin’s special friends, Steve Davis and Anibal Lopez.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. Funeral service will be held 10:00 am Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Avon Park.
