Barbara J. Olthof of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Vitas Inpatient Unit in Winter Park.

She was born September 17, 1939 in Union, SC to the late Joe & Pearl (Bursma) Lowe; she came here from Texas in 2002. She was a homemaker, she enjoyed working and following her retirement she worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Winter Haven and Haines City.

Survivors include her husband, Charles J. “Chuck” Olthof; daughter, Vickie Whitaker of Austin, TX; sons, Kenneth Olthof of Garland, TX and Scott Olthof of Gratton, MI; sisters, Betty Blasen of Grand Rapids, MI, Judy Harris of Palm Bay, Toni Steele of Grand Rapids and Patti Lowe of New York; brother, Michael Lowe of Grand Rapids, MI; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
